September 11th Memorial Services

8:30am – Dutchess County Family Court Building

A memorial service to remember the victims of September 11th will be held on the steps of the Dutchess County Family Court Building, 50 Market Street, Poughkeepsie, at 8:30am on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. County Court Judge Peter M. Forman will preside and Family Court Judge Joan Posner will offer remarks. The service will include a ceremonial lowering of the flag and a moment of silence to recall those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Msgr. John Brinn, Pastor of St. Mary’s Church, Poughkeepsie, will lead the attendees in prayer. An honor guard composed of officers of the Office of Court Administration will attend in recognition of their brethren who died during rescue efforts on September 11th. The public is welcome and invited to attend.

7:00pm – Exempt Fireman’s Association

A memorial service will be held at The Exempt Fireman’s Association, 200 Mansion Street, Poughkeepsie, beginning at 7:00pm on Wednesday, September 11, 2013.  Guest speakers to include New York State Senator Terry Gipson and City of Poughkeepsie Mayor John Tkazyik.  Light refreshments will be served after the ceremony. The memorial service is open to public and members of the Fire, Police, and EMS services.  For additional information, please visit
