Summer Food Service Program – Free Summer Meals for Youth in Poughkeepsie
The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) was established to ensure that low-income children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. Free meals, that meet Federal nutrition guidelines, are provided to all children 18 years old and under at approved SFSP sites in areas with significant concentrations of low-income children.
Promoting summer feeding sites in your community is one of the most important things you can do to ensure no child goes hungry this summer. The more parents, children, and teenagers know about where sites are located, the more children will come to eat.
All kids & teens 18 years and younger can receive a nutritious meal for FREE during the summer!
- It’s Free: Kids eat free meals and families save money.
- It’s Easy: No residency or citizenship rules, no registration, and no forms to fill out. Any kid can receive a free meal this summer.
- It’s Fun: There will be occasional events & activities at the lunch site.
- It’s Good Food: A nutritious meal is served
Free meals are served Monday through Friday. For a complete list of locations and for additional information about outreach events, download the flyers below:
