Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular – July 4, 2017
The City of Poughkeepsie will host its annual Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular on Tuesday, July 4th at dusk (approx. 9:20 pm). The best places to view the show are from Waryas Park (free), The Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum (tickets required), or the Walkway Over the Hudson (tickets required).
Rain Date: Friday, July 7th
Parking: Parking is free in municipal parking lots beginning at 5:00 pm and in metered spaces after 6:00 pm . Handicapped parking will be available at Waryas Park. Please see an officer for access and directions. No Parking zones will be in place along North Water Street and in the lots at Waryas Park. John M. Flowers Circle at Waryas Park will be closed to vehicular traffic.
Parking Restrictions: Please be advised that the following parking restrictions will be put into place at Waryas Park effective 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. Waryas Park will be open to the general public, however, the following parking restrictions will be enforced:
- Waryas Park Boat Launch – Closed July 4, 2017
- No Parking – Waryas Park Lower Lot (10am-10pm)
- No Parking – Waryas Park Main Street City Lot (10am-10pm – Reserved for Handicap Event Parking Only)
- No Parking – Main Street, West of N. Water Street, including the John M. Flowers Circle at Waryas Park (10am-10pm)
Vehicles found in violation of above are subject to be towed by the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department.
