PKGO Getters, an Evening Highlighting the City of Poughkeepsie

The City of Poughkeepsie will feature a family-friendly, free event on April 2, 2019 when inspirational speaker Jessica O. Matthews, Founder and CEO of Unchartered Power, appears at the Bardavon.

Uncharted Power is an award-winning energy and data technology company that Matthews founded when she was only 22 years old. She was named one of Fortune Magazine’s “Most Promising Women Entrepreneurs,” a Forbes’ “30 Under 30,” and the Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations “Scientist of the Year.”

Matthews is ushering in the PKGO Getters series that will highlight enterprising Poughkeepsie notables who have inspiring stories to share.

The evening will also feature performances by the Poughkeepsie High School Chorus, the Poughkeepsie Step Team, and an appearance by the Poughkeepsie Pioneers New York State Champions Boys Basketball Team.  Poughkeepsie High School student Miguel Angel Sanchez, winner of the Guest MC Instagram contest held earlier in the month, will guide attendees through the night.

“We’re excited to shine a light on so many people who have their roots in Poughkeepsie and are now out making a true difference in the world,” said City of Poughkeepsie Mayor Rob Rolison. “We look forward to more of these events, providing people with positive experiences in our city.”

PKGO’s mission is to highlight the City of Poughkeepsie as a thriving, and growing city and to create a positive sense of community among current and future residents, businesses and visitors.
