The City of Poughkeepsie is seeking development proposals for a 1.22 acre city-owned parcel on the southeast corner of Mill Street and Catherine Street, with an address of 35 Catherine Street (Parcel #6162-78-157094). The current use of the property is surface parking. This is a highly visible parcel located on the city’s busy East-West Arterial system that sees more than 36,000 vehicles daily. The parcel is also located in the heart of the city’s downtown, one block north of Main Street and within walking distance of shops, restaurants and offices.
The city’s development goals for the site include:
- To attract proposals consistent with the proposed Poughkeepsie Innovation District zoning regulations.
- To maximize the site’s development potential and contribute to the vibrancy of the city’s downtown.
- Mixed-use development is preferred, and any residential component must be mixed-income.
- To maximize the fiscal productivity of the development site.
