PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the City of Poughkeepsie is looking for seven (7) members to serve on the City of Poughkeepsie Charter Review Commission. The Commission is advisory and will be charged with reviewing the City’s current form of government. Members must be at least eighteen (18) year old, residents of the City of Poughkeepsie and cannot be employees, hold a public office or an appointed position of the City of Poughkeepsie. Applicants should have a basic understanding of city government. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to the Charter and Codes of the City of Poughkeepsie, Administrative Code, Section 14.04, a Common Council Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 6:00 p.m., in the Common Council Chambers, Third Floor, Municipal Building/City Hall, 62 Civic Center Plaza, Poughkeepsie, New York, for the purpose of receiving comments on proposed Ordinance, establishing a fee in lieu of parkland.
The Land Use Law Center is hosting a public “open house” on April 16th from 6:30-8:30pm at 305 Main Street, “The Canvas,” next door to the Artist’s Palate to discuss the draft Poughkeepsie City Center Revitalization Plan. A team of facilitators will be on staff to take public comments. The Poughkeepsie City Center Revitalization Plan (PCCRP) seeks to capitalize on all of Poughkeepsie’s assets while redressing enduring concerns about building vacancy, crime, public safety, open space, and the underutilization of land. The PCCRP generates planning concepts and implementation strategies to help reassert Poughkeepsie as the economic and cultural center of the Hudson Valley. The Planning Board meeting scheduled for Tuesday, April 15 has been rescheduled to Wednesday, April 16, beginning at 7:00pm. A continuation of the Public Hearing for One Dutchess Avenue is scheduled for 6:00pm on April 16.
The Waterfront Advisory Committee (WAC) meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 25 has been cancelled due to a lack of agenda items. For additional information about the WAC, Please contact the Planning Department.

Immediately following at 6:30 p.m., the regular Common Council Meeting for January 2, 2014 will be held.
