Public Hearing: CDBG Funding – November 4, 2015

The City of Poughkeepsie will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at 10:00 am in the Common Council Chambers, City Hall, 3rd Floor.  The public hearing is being held to provide an opportunity for the public to comment on activities as they believe should be funded with 2016 Community Development Block Grant funds.  All comments at the public hearing will be taken into consideration when preparing the Draft Action Plan which will outline proposed activities to be funded with 2016 CDBG.

Public Notice: Federal Transportation Program Application

The City of Poughkeepsie is requesting Capital and Operating Federal Funds in the amount of $1,581,000 under Section 5307 and the Surface Transportation Program of the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991. Funding in the amount of $1,581,000 is to be used as reimbursement of Preventive Maintenance, from January 1, through December 31, 2015. These funds will also be used as reimbursement of Operating funds for January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2015 expenses. Additionally, these funds will be used for the purchase of two Hybrid Electric buses to replace two diesel fuel buses once they have passed their useful life.

A copy of the application is available for viewing during business hours, 8:30am–4:30pm, Monday-Friday at City Hall, 62 Civic Center Plaza, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Comments will be accepted at this address for thirty days, attn: Karen Sorrell. This program of projects becomes the final program of projects if not amended. Comments and or request for a public hearing must be received by 4:30pm, September 11, 2014. If requested a public hearing will be held.

City Offices Closed; Garbage Pick-Up Suspended

City Offices will be closed on Friday, April 18, 2014 in observance of Good Friday.  Sanitation services (garbage pickup and transfer station drop off) will also be suspended on this day.

Sanitation services will resume on Tuesday, April 22, 2014.

City Court will be open on Friday, April 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

City Bus will be operating on a Saturday Schedule

Public Hearing: Receive Comments on Tax Cap Override

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to the Charter and Codes of the City of Poughkeepsie, Administrative Code, Section 14.04, a Common Council Public Hearing will be held on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 5:30 p.m., in the Common Council Chambers, Third Floor, Municipal Building/City Hall, 62 Civic Center Plaza, Poughkeepsie, New York, for the purpose of receiving comments on the proposed Local Law LL-13-3, to override the tax cap.

Public Hearing: Historic Landmark Designation

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to the Charter and Codes of the City of Poughkeepsie, Administrative Code, Section 14.04, a Common Council Public Hearing will be held on Monday, November 6, 2013 at 5:30 p.m., in the Common Council Chambers, Third Floor, Municipal Building/City Hall, 62 Civic Center Plaza, Poughkeepsie, New York, for the purpose of receiving comments on the proposed for the proposed designation of 328-330 Main Street, 83 Worrall Avenue, 317 Main Street and 115 Hooker Avenue as local historic landmarks. 

Notice of Requests for Funding & Public Hearing for 2014 HOPWA Grant

The City of Poughkeepsie is accepting Requests for Funding for the 2014 Housing Opportunities For Persons With HIV/AIDS (HOPWA) Grant. Eligible activities in Dutchess and Orange Counties must meet the criteria as outlined in 24 CFR Part 574.300. Applications can be obtained from the Office of Social Development, City of Poughkeepsie, City Hall, 2nd Floor, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, from the City’s website www.cityofpoughkeepsie.com or by calling 845-451-4046 and an application will be mailed to you. Applications must be received by Paul Hesse, Social Development Director, City of Poughkeepsie, 62 Civic Center Plaza, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 no later than 4:00 pm on Tuesday, November 12, 2012. E-mail applications will not be accepted.

Public Hearings

Two Public Hearings will be held, one on Tuesday October 15, 2013 at 10:00 am in the Orange County Office of Community Development, 18 Seward Avenue 1st Floor, Middletown, NY. The other Public Hearing will be held on Wednesday October 16, 2013 at 2:00pm in the City of Poughkeepsie Common Council Chambers, City Hall, 3rd Floor. Any written comments may be addressed to Paul Hesse, Social Development Director, City of Poughkeepsie, 62 Civic Center Plaza, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.

Notice of Request for Funding and Public Hearing for 2014 Community Development Block Grant

The City of Poughkeepsie is accepting Requests for Funding for 2014 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from eligible non-profit organizations. Eligible activities must meet the National Objective primarily benefiting low and moderate income City of Poughkeepsie residents and the priorities outlined in the 2013-2017 Consolidated Plan. Applications may be obtained at the Social Development Office, City Hall, 2nd Floor, or on the City’s website www.cityofpoughkeepsie.com or by calling 845-451-4046 and an application will be mailed to you. Applications are available commencing on Friday, September 13, 2013.

A Public Hearing will be held on Thursday October 10, 2013 at 4:00pm in the Common Council Chambers, 3rd Floor, City Hall, Poughkeepsie, NY. This hearing is to provide an opportunity for the public to comment on activities they believe should be funded with the 2014 Community Development Block Grant funds. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A PUBLIC HEARING will be held by the Historic District and Landmarks Preservation Commission of the City of Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York, in the Common Council Chambers, Third Floor, City Hall, Civic  Center Plaza, Poughkeepsie, New York, on the 24th day of April, 2013 at 7:00pm, to consider the nomination of the property located at 20 Academy Street Tax Map Parcel #131300-6162-77-108039-0000 for designation as a local historic landmark, pursuant to the provisions of Section 19-4.5 of the Zoning Ordinance.
