$15,000 Reward for Information Leading to Arrest in Hit & Run

On Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 8:44pm, Shequila Brown, an 18-year-old City resident, was struck and killed by a vehicle at the intersection of Church Street (44/55 eastbound) and South Hamilton Street.

On March 20, 2013 the City of Poughkeepsie Police developed information that confirms that a dark red to black “loud” pick up, having “dually” style rear wheels, with the tailgate missing or down, having a silver or gray tool box in the back and a large front chrome grill, was the vehicle that struck and killed Brown. The vehicle was last seen leaving the scene driving east on Church Street/East bound arterial and running the red light at the intersection of South Clinton and Church Street/East bound arterial. We are asking the public’s help in locating the vehicle which matches this description.  Anyone with information on this vehicle is asked to call the City of Poughkeepsie Police at 451-4000 or 451-7577.

Hit & Run Investigation Continues; Public’s Help Sought

On Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 8:44pm Shequila Brown was struck and killed by a vehicle at the intersection of Church Street (44/55 eastbound) and South Hamilton Street. The vehicle fled the scene without stopping. The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department has asked the public for help in solving this crime, and we are following up on all the leads that have come in thus far.

However, at this point we are unable to say with any certainty what make or color the vehicle was that struck Shequila Brown. One lead was that a red SUV or pick-up type vehicle may have been involved, but that is not certain. We continue to ask for the public’s help in finding the person involved. Without the public’s assistance this crime may go unsolved. Anyone with information on this crime should call the City of Poughkeepsie Police at (845) 451-7577.
