Mayor Rob Rolison announced today the availability of grant funds to support a variety of youth programs throughout the City. The “Youth Activities & Opportunities Program” will serve as a gateway through which local organizations may apply for funding to support clubs, leagues, and educational programs which provide opportunities for Poughkeepsie youth to participate in community based programs that emphasize active lifestyles, provide instructional guidance and build long-lasting relationships so important to personal growth.
“As we continue to improve the City’s finances, we must also be sure to rebuild and repair the essence of what makes Poughkeepsie such a great place to live and work. Our return to investing in youth programs, both sports and educational, doesn’t just strengthen our youth, it strengthens families, and through them our entire community”, said Mayor Rolison.
Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis, through November 1st, 2018. To learn more about the program and the application process, please visit: http://cityofpoughkeepsie.com/building/economic-incentives-and-community-development/
