Water Main Repair – Lilling Road
The City of Poughkeepsie Engineering Department is informing property owners and residents located on and/ or adjacent to Lilling Road that the City of Poughkeepsie will be repairing a leaking water main.
Beginning Tuesday, January 22, 2019, various utility crews will be responding to the required underground utility locate through the NY Dig Safe program. This underground locate work must be performed prior to any construction or repair of underground utilities.
During this time, residents may experience a temporary interruption in water service while repairs are being made. Residents may notice discolored tap water due to the use of fresh water from local hydrants. Simply run water for a few minutes to resolve this issue. Equipment on-site may include large excavators, dump trucks, haulers and other heavy equipment. Noise will be kept to a minimum, but the use of a generator and temporary pumps may be required for a portion of the work.
Traffic will be limited to local traffic and emergency personnel only, and signs will be posted to delineate the required work zone. A traffic advisory and/ or notice of construction can also be located on the City of Poughkeepsie website or via social media.
