City Administrator Position Available

The City of Poughkeepsie is seeking a seasoned management professional for the post of City Administrator.  The City Administrator is the chief administrative officer of the city which has a 2016 general fund budget of $48 million with a combined budget of $83 million, and 338 FTE employees.

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or related field with a Master’s degree preferred, and at least 5 years of municipal management experience as a city manager/administrator or as an assistant city manager/administrator in a city comparable in size and characteristics as Poughkeepsie.  The City Administrator is required to live within the City limits within a reasonable time after selection.  Salary is negotiable, depending on experience and qualification.
