We need your input!
The Poughkeepsie City Center Connectivity Project is focused on developing improvements to the downtown street network that will enhance mobility and support the city’s broader efforts to revitalize its downtown and promote economic development.
On Friday, October 7th, the City of Poughkeepsie worked with residents, businesses, and partner agencies to create a demonstration project that temporarily transformed Market Street into a better place to walk and bike. Dubbed Market Street Connect, the demonstration allowed city officials and residents to test and gather input on traffic calming strategies, new public spaces, and other design ideas.
Building on the October demonstration, the project team has now developed several new design scenarios for key streets in the downtown network.
Please join us at an upcoming Public Workshop to help shape the new design ideas. Refining these designs is a critical next step as we work to transform streets in Poughkeepsie’s city center.
