Sanitation Collection Schedule
Northside (Areas North of Main Street)
- Garbage: Mondays and Thursdays
- Recyclables: Mondays or Thursdays (check the street list (PDF) or call Transfer Station to ascertain which day for your route)
- Yard Debris: Wednesdays (April through November or first snowfall - whichever comes first)
Southside (Areas South of Main Street)
- Garbage: Tuesdays and Fridays
- Recyclables: Tuesdays or Fridays (check the street list (PDF) or call Transfer Station to ascertain which day for your route)

Yard Debris - Curbside Collection
The curbside collection of yard debris and bagged leaves will be from early spring to late fall. Yard debris collection will occur every Wednesday (until second week in December or first snowfall - whichever comes first) and will be suspended during holiday weeks in which sanitation and recycling collection are on Wednesday due to the Sanitation Holiday Collection Schedule.
Yard debris includes small branches no thicker than three inches in diameter, cut into 3-foot sections bundled and tied. Yard debris should be placed at the curb no earlier than 5 pm on Tuesday evening. Yard debris must be placed in biodegradable paper bags, a clean garbage can, and/or bundled and tied.

- Trash cans (no refuse in cans)
Allowable Items
- Brush
- Garden and yard debris
- Grass clippings
- Leaves
- Trimmings and brush less than three inches in diameter and no longer than 3 feet long
- Twigs and branches
Setting out & Returning Containers
- Trimmings, brush, twigs and branches must be tied into manageable size and weight bundles
- Bundles should be placed by the curb and piled all one way
- Cans or materials are to be placed curbside no earlier than 5 pm on the night before scheduled pickup
- After pickup, cans are to be returned to the rear of the residence no later than 6 am the next morning
Loose Leaves / Fall Season
- Vacuum truck service begins in the fall when posted on the website (or call the Department of Public Works at 845-451-4111)
- Do not place loose leaves at the curb until the loose leaf collection schedule has been posted
- Do not place loose leaves in the gutter lines in the street as this will cause flooding when it rains; to reduce potential flooding, please keep all storm drains clear of loose leaves and debris
