Working under a joint agreement, the City of Poughkeepsie and Town of Poughkeepsie own and operate the facility, which processes 11 million gallons of water drawn from the Hudson River each day. The municipalities continue to make significant improvements to the plant and other aspects of the water system.
The City of Poughkeepsie has produced a new informational video that explains the past, present and future importance of fresh, clean water to customers served by Poughkeepsie's Water Treatment Facility. The approximate 6-minute video chronicles how raw water from the Hudson is treated, disinfected and purified at the facility.
