The city will host its annual Independence Day Fireworks Display on Monday, July 4th shortly after dusk (approximately 9:20 pm). Watch for free from Waryas Park, at the base of Main Street; or purchase a ticket for a vantage point at the Walkway Over the Hudson, walkway.org/fireworks.
"We are always excited to have this event and are blessed to live in such a place that offers a spectacular backdrop for fireworks," said Mayor Rob Rolison.
At the conclusion of the fireworks, expect very heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the west end of the city. Parking also will be at a premium; therefore, it is suggested to use public transportation to and from the event. If you do choose to drive, parking can be found at the train station lots and on city streets where legally permitted. The city lots at the park will be for handicap access only. Main Street from North Water Street to Flowers Circle will be closed; however, access to the lower city lot (for handicap only) and River Station lot (for restaurant patrons only) will be available. Vehicular traffic leaving the park area will be directed south on Rinaldi Blvd or North on North Water Street to Delafield Street.
The rain date for this event is Saturday, July 9
