City officials have announced that Lt. Vinnie Parise of the City’s Fire Department has been named department’s next Deputy Fire Chief, effective immediately. Lt. Parise is a resident of the City of Poughkeepsie and a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School. He began his career with the City as a firefighter in 2001 and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2016.

City Fire Chief Joe Franco said: “Deputy Chief Parise has served the City and this Department with distinction for nearly 22 years. His knowledge of department operations is matched only by his love of our community, and he has the respect and admiration of our entire team.”

City Administrator Marc Nelson said, “On behalf of city residents and all our partners, I want to thank Deputy Chief Parise for his service and congratulate him on his new role. This is a wonderful choice for the city and we wish him, his family and the entire department a very happy holiday season.”

Deputy Chief Parise said: “I’m grateful for the confidence that city leadership and Chief Franco have in me, and for the support and well-wishes of my peers. It is my honor to work with our team of professional firefighters. We are all at the ready, and we all wish you a safe and very happy holiday.”
