City Makes Multi-Million Commitment to Parks

At the April 19 Common Council meeting, city officials presented their plans for a $3 million commitment to investments in the city’s parks over the next three years. The “PKGO-Parks Plan” will focus on rebuilding and replacing aging equipment and make major upgrades to the parks. The city has 18 municipal parks located throughout the city that are in varying states of deterioration.  Partners for this project include: The City of Poughkeepsie, The PARKnership, Scenic Hudson and New City Parks.
